LFC 21 Day Fast 2013
DAY 3…A Good Day To Pray!
January 9, 2013
When’s a good day to pray? Everyday, of course, is the right answer. But today is set aside specifically for praying for one another and for our fasts.
Tomorrow will be prayer request day! We’re going to believe God together for miracles, healing and deliverance to take place. See below for more details on how to get prayer requests in the blog. Let’s pray in faith and expect results.
God, in His Word, charged us to, “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 KJV)
Praise God, I just had one of those Mike Haney moments that I shared with you in yesterday’s Fasting Blog Post: I opened my Bible app to find the scripture I just shared with you – it was the Scripture Of The Day and popped on my screen and asked me if I wanted to share it!
God is always in order!
Do you see the order in this passage of how you should approach God? God is a God of order. He does and allows everything with purpose. And because we’re His Children, we should seek to mimic God (be like Him)–much like little kids do their parents.
The order of approaching God is:
- Rejoice (v. 16). The Bible says to Rejoice in The Lord alway and again I say rejoice. Rejoicing in God shows complete faith in Him. It also gets you in the right frame of mind to talk to him in your prayer, submit your Will to Him and to honor Him.
- Pray without ceasing (v. 17). Let me share with you Matthew Henry’s commentary on this scripture: “We would rejoice more if we prayed more. We should keep up stated times of prayer, and continue instant in prayer. We should pray always and not faint: pray without weariness and continue in prayer until we get to that WORLD where prayer shall be swallowed up in praise. The meaning is not that men should do nothing but pray, but that nothing else we do should hinder prayer in its proper season.”
- Give Thanks (v. 18). Below is a list of songs from YouTube about giving God thanks. Choose the musical style you like or listen to them all!

Tomorrow we’ll be sharing prayer requests. If you have a request you’d like to have our Fasting Community pray about, email me at:
If you don’t want the specific names mentioned, just let me know in your email and we will omit personal names and simply share the need.
HERE IS A REQUEST I PROMISED WOULD BE IN TODAY.
The heat/air service man who worked on my furnace that caused all the smoke in my house has asked me to share this request: His wife, Mary, has been fighting several cancer spots. She went in today for more tests and they found two more spots, and they appear malignant. They are a young couple. He said, Pastor, I believe when two or more agree, her healing can happen. Please pray for Mary tonight and tomorrow.
God Bless! Have a great day! – Pastor Steve
