LFC 21 Day Fast
Submit To Submission
January 22, 2013
What in the world does submit to submission mean? I think this is the correct question to ask. You see, in the two places where mankind will spend eternity this question has already been answered. Everyone in Heaven has already submitted to the King of Kings. Everyone in Hell is there because they refused to submit to Almighty God. Since where we end up is determined by how we lived our lives in this world then……..
HOW, IN THE WORLD, DO WE SUBMIT?
For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. (Romans 10:2-4 KJV)
While this scripture spoke of the lost state of Israel and Paul’s desire for them to be saved, it has profound truth for all of us concerning the lost art of total submission to the Lord.
1. A STRONG DESIRE FOR GOD IS GREAT BUT NOT ENOUGH.
I’ve met people who know a lot about God, who have studied the Bible from cover to cover, and even state they believe whole-heartedly there is a God and we will face Him one day……….But they have never surrendered their hearts to Christ. So the problem is they know about Jesus but they don’t know Him personally. They have not repented of their sins nor asked Him to be Lord of their lives.
The fate of those who live with great zeal for Christ but do not have a personal relationship with Him is revealed in Matthew:
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:21-23 KJV)
Not all those who talk about Jesus enter into Heaven. But every person who submits to the will of the Heavenly Father will surely make Heaven their home.
2. YOU CAN’T HAVE IT YOUR WAY AND GOD’S WAY TOO.
Our devotion scripture in Romans 10 says people who do not submit to God “create their own brand of righteousness”. They have a form of Godliness but deny (refuse to submit to) the very power of God they claim to have.
Our devotion scripture then further explains one who creates his own brand of righteousness (which, coincidently is called the spirit of antichrist) does not or will not submit to God’s righteousness.
3. BEFORE YOU CAN RESIST THE DEVIL YOU MUST FIRST SUBMIT TO GOD!
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7 KJV)
Satan will not go away just because you tell him, “No”. Getting the devil to leave you alone and get out of your life must always begin with your total submission to God. Making the devil leave your family, business, mind and body starts with submitting your family, business mind and body to God.
There is a spirit in the land that says, “I’ll do it and have it My Way”. If we are not careful this evil spirit will attach itself to the church and each one of us individually. God didn’t create us to set up our own kingdoms, he created us to worship Him and work for Him in His Kingdom.
In the flesh it is very hard to be submissive. Married couples don’t want to submit to one another, employees don’t want to submit to bosses, families would rather fight than submit or prefer one another. I promise you, you don’t really want YOUR WAY because the wisest man who every lived clearly stated, “There is a way that seemeth right unto man but the end therof are the ways of death.” – Proverbs 16:25
Jesus gave a perfect example when he prayed to His Father, “Not my will but thine be done.” And, by the way, our devotion scripture ends with this powerful statement, “Christ is the end of the law of righteousness for everyone that believes.”
So go ahead! Submit to God in every area of your life and you’ll Reign with God forever
